Ranch Policies & Information
What’s the difference between a dude ranch and a guest ranch?
Absolutely nothing! The terms are interchangeable. However, they both can offer a widely different range of services and activities.
Are you open year-round?
As of this year, yes! The Ranch is open 365 days a year.
Can I use any of the facilities if I’m not a guest?
The Golf Course, Club Grill and The Spa & Wellness Center are open to the public. Reservations are required. The Main Dining Room and '19' are open to guests for dinner, space permitting. Reservations are required - reservations in the Main Dining Room can be made by calling 928-684-5484, reservations for '19' can be made on OpenTable here.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 4 pm and Check -out is 11 am. Requests for early arrival or late check-outs should contact the front desk to see if they can be accommodated.
Can I bring my pet?
Unfortunately, we must ask guests to leave their furry friends at home due to safety concerns. Service animals are welcome.
Is there a gift shop?
Yes, we now have a gift shop located within the main lodge lobby. You'll find sundries, snacks, western apparel, hats, jewelry, Sun C logo items and so much more. You can also find great items in the Golf Shop and Spa. If you prefer to shop online, you can also visit our online store here.
Will I still have Internet access or cell service?
Yes, we do have free WiFi service, if needed. Although we encourage unplugging and connecting in other ways. Cell phones and laptops are not permitted in the saloon, dining room, or patio seating areas.
Can I smoke on property?
Smoking is limited to the outdoor patios of the rooms. Smoking is not allowed in the buildings or amenity areas.
What does Rancho de los Caballeros offer as part of their inclusive experience?
A stay at the ranch includes meals based on your package choice, 18% gratuities (not calculated in rates) and many activities such as tennis, pickleball, guided nature walks, birdwatching, yoga, guided tours to Hassayampa River Preserve, and more. Alcoholic beverages or specialty drinks are not included.
Other activities such as horseback riding, golf, spa services, archery, and guided e-bike tours can be a-la-carte or part of a package.
Will I see wild animals on or around the property?
We have 13,300 rideable acres of wide-open space in the Sonoran desert, so chances are good that you will see some type of visitors. We have an on-site nature expert that leads walks, horseback rides, birdwatching tours and excursions to the Hassayampa River Preserve if you want to learn more about the flora, fauna and critters.
Do you offer entertainment on property?
Yes. We have very talented staff members that play guitar and sing in the saloon and western balladeers at the cookouts. Check out our Activities schedule for dates and times.
Do you have someone to help me to my room with my luggage?
Yes. We have bellman that will get you and your luggage to your room.
How old is The Ranch?
The Ranch was built in 1947. It is currently going through a 3-year renovation and expansion plan with our new owners.
Dining
What is the expected attire for mealtimes?
Appropriate attire for breakfast and lunch meal periods at The Ranch is resort casual. Collared shirts are required in the Club House Grill.
At evening meals in the Main Dining Room, we kindly ask you to adhere to our dress code which is Resort elegant: Long sleeved collared shirts and slacks or jeans for men. For women, a nice sundress (not the beach kind) or capris and a blouse- similar to what you would wear to a summer wedding. For kids, Sunday church-wear is appropriate.
Should you choose to dine at '19', our fine dining restaurant, we ask that you adhere to the following dress code: Men should wear a long sleeve collared shirt; a vest or sport coat is recommended. Full length trousers are required (well-kept denim in a dark shade is allowed). Women should wear a blouse, sweater or jacket, slacks (well-kept denim is OK), pantsuit, skirt or dress.
Are meals included in my stay?
We offer different meal packages from Breakfast only to Full American Plan. 15% gratuity is included in which ever plan you choose (but not calculated in rates). Guests are welcome to enjoy alcoholic beverages at an additional cost.
What should I expect for food?
Our Executive Chef, Robert Cornett, has seasonal menus for each venue with plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Breakfast and lunch at the main Ranch are served buffet style. Breakfast Monday to Saturday 7:00 am – 9:00 am, Sunday 7:00 am – 10:00 am; Lunch 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm. The Golf Club is also available for a change of pace at lunchtime, open daily from 11AM-3PM. Dinner is served in the Main Dining Room daily from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm (reservations are required) - dinner in the Main Dining Room is upscale but Ranch and Southwest-focused; we also have our fine dining restaurant '19' at the Golf Club, which offers creative and innovative global cuisine as well as a weekly-changing tasting menu. 19 is open from 5PM-9PM, Wednesday-Saturday.
Do you offer gluten free and other allergy selections?
Yes, we have gluten free and vegetarian items on the menu. We can usually accommodate other allergy menu requests with a little notice.
Do I need to make reservations for meals?
Reservations are required for lunch at Los Caballeros Golf Grill. Call 928-684-4896. Reservations are also required for dinner at the Main Dining Room and for Open House Cookouts. Call 928-684-5484. Reservations for our fine dining restaurant '19' can be made on OpenTable here.
Do you have cookouts?
We do offer open house cookouts at our Yucca Flats outdoor cookout area and BBQ at the Pool seasonally. Check our Activities schedule for dates and times.
Transportation
How can I arrive at Rancho de los Caballeros?
We are located three miles west of downtown Wickenburg on South Vulture Mine Road, a pleasant hour’s drive from Phoenix (hour and a half from the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport). Private planes can land at Wickenburg Municipal Airport. The Ranch offers transportation to and from Phoenix Sky Harbor. Please contact our front desk or Concierge for prices and availability. Car rentals are available in both Phoenix and Wickenburg.
Is there a parking fee?
Rancho de los Caballeros offers free parking at The Ranch, Golf Course, the Spa & Wellness Center and near the rooms.
If I don’t drive to the resort do you offer transportation to things nearby?
Our front desk staff is happy to offer shuttle services for quick trips to town or to Vulture Peak. Just give us some notice and we will find someone to get you there and back.
Horses
Do you offer horseback rides to people not staying at the Ranch?
At this time, horseback riding is only available to our guests.
Can I bring my own horse?
Yes, if you are staying in our accommodations and with approval from our Head Wrangler. However, we usually have around 100 horses on hand for guests.
Do you offer programs for all skill levels?
Yes, from greenhorns to experienced riders. One of our wranglers will assess your skill level.
Do you have a weight limit?
We do have a weight limit of 260 lbs. to ensure the safety of our guests and our horses. Please call the head wrangler for further information.
Do you offer rides for children just starting out?
All children are welcome to participate in ring rides every day at 10:15 am.
What is Team Penning?
Team penning involves working in small groups of intermediate to advanced horseback riders to navigate steers into a pen located at the arena's far end. Oh, and it’s also a timed event, so move quickly! Before the games begin, groups receive coaching from our expert wranglers to ensure safe, family-friendly fun.
Spa & Wellness Center
Are you open year-round?
Yes, The Spa & Wellness Center is open year-round
How soon should I book a spa appointment?
Its safest to book a month in advance but we always try to get guests in if we can.
Where is the spa located?
The spa is about a 5-minute walk down a path past the main lodge.
Where can I find a spa menu online?
Right here! There will be a button for you to view our specials as well as our spa menu.
Can I charge my spa services to my room?
Yes!
Is the tip included in my spa treatment at check out?
Yes, we add a 18% gratuity but you are welcome to add to it.
Is there a cancellation policy for the spa?
Yes, we ask that you cancel 24 hours before your treatment to avoid being charged 100% of your service.
Can my child get services at the spa?
Children under 16 can receive nail services. Children 16 and up can receive body treatments with their parent/guardian’s signature.
Is there a locker room?
No, we ask that you leave jewelry and other valuables in your room or at home.
Golf
Is the Golf Course open to the public?
Yes. Tee times can be made online or by calling 928-684-2704.
Do you do Golf Tournaments?
Los Cab Golf Club hosts numerous outings for groups of 12 or more throughout the year. We can customize an event for your group. Do you want a shotgun start tournament, split tees, assistance with hole-in-one sponsors, vendors on the course, awards? We can assist, give us a call.
When do you overseed?
We overseeded in September. Call the Golf Shop at 928-684-2704 for dates.
Activities

When can I book activities?

What times are Kids Club offered?
Daily from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
What are the ages for Kids Club?
Kids ages 5-12 can join us for crafts & activities daily. Reservations are required.
Is Kids Club included in my stay?
Kids’ Club is an extra cost - $40 per child, per day
Do you offer Babysitting Services?
We can arrange babysitters for children under the age of 5 at your request, but we’ll need at least 24-hour notice. Our babysitters are independent of The Ranch so rates will vary and they need to be paid directly.
What should we bring?
Things to bring include sunscreen, a hat, and closed-toe shoes.
What are the rates?
$40 per child.
Is pre-registration required?

Do you have indoor and outdoor space for events?
We offer over 12,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
Do you offer teambuilding activities?
Absolutely. Try Team Penning, Birdwatching Bingo, Stargazing, a Salsa Making Competition, Putting Contest, S’mores by the fire, a Jeep Tour, and so much more.
Do you do weddings?
Yes. The Ranch provides picture-perfect indoor and outdoor venues for your ceremony, catered reception, and photo shoots. From rustic-themed Wickenburg weddings to more traditional affairs, we’ll help you plan the best day ever. Check out this page for more info on weddings at the Ranch.
Are we able to rent space for an event without staying there?
Yes. We offer full catering services with dining options and unique setups for any event at our indoor or outdoor venues.
